Unfinished basement. Finished living space.
Convert your unfinished basement into a family room, in-law suite, home theater, gym, or income-producing accessory dwelling unit. Fully waterproofed, insulated, and code-compliant.

Add the square footage that's already there.
You're paying for that basement square footage in your taxes whether you use it or not. A finished basement is the cheapest way to add usable living space to your home — usually 40-60% less per square foot than a bump-out addition.
Done right, a finished basement passes inspection, holds value, and stays dry through Connecticut winters. Done wrong, it grows mold and fails inspections. We do it right.

Common questions.
How much does it cost to finish a basement in Connecticut?
Standard basement finishing runs $30,000 to $70,000 for a typical 1,000 sq ft area. Adding a full bath and bedroom runs $55,000 to $95,000. ADU conversions with full kitchen, bath, and separate entrance range $80,000 to $150,000+.
Do I need permits to finish my basement?
Yes. Basement finishing requires a building permit, electrical permit, and (if adding a bath) a plumbing permit in Connecticut. Egress windows are required for any room used as a sleeping area.
What about waterproofing?
Every basement we finish gets a moisture and waterproofing assessment first. We address any active leaks, install vapor barriers, and recommend a dehumidifier setup before framing begins.
Can my basement be used as a legal apartment?
In some Connecticut towns, yes — under the new 2026 ADU rules. Requirements include egress windows, a separate entrance, full bath, kitchen, and proper ceiling heights. We assess feasibility during your initial consultation.
